Camille Paycha

Circus artist Camille Paycha combines circus with performance, visual arts, and choreography. She emigrated from Paris to Tilburg, where she graduated from the Academy for Circus and Performance Art in 2015.

Rather than emphasizing virtuosity, Camille uses aerial acrobatics (aerial straps) in her search for the power of intimacy, collaboration, physicality, imagination, humor, and the relationship with the audience. This experimental approach is quite exceptional.

Under the wing of Radio Sancha, she creates video, performances, and exhibitions with Noortje Sanders. Their video work WaterRuis, commissioned by Oerol Festival, was nominated for the Joop Mulder Plak in 2020. In 2021, Camille's solo performance Ice Skates and Other Cruelties was selected as a laureate of CircusNext, a European platform that supports innovative circus makers. In 2024, 60 degrees of separation followed, a compelling circus performance in which two artists, accompanied by a drummer, explore the intimacy of movement. 60 degrees was selected for Het TheaterFestival.

Camille is also a performer in productions by Janni van Goor and Side-Show and works as a dramaturg.

In September 2026, the production AFK, which she is creating together with Sofie Anny Nicea Vleghe, will premiere.
